Carveco Maker - Tropical Skull V-Bit Carving Onefinity Tutorial
Which machine is this please? Is it the 4040 Pro?
Liked your video, I also had problems with the epoxy wicking in my projects; however, I did notice that different woods had a different wicking rate. So, what I do now is I go and sand my project before I start engraving, I spend a few minutes and I go thru my progression of sandpaper, start at 80 or 120 grit depending on my wood and work my way up to 600 grit paper. doing this first makes the wood surface tighter and hinders the wicking effect, after sanding I spray a light coat of polyurethane on my project to seal the wood after applying the polyurethane I wait about an hour then I start pouring the epoxy.
Awesome tip, thank you!
Will this work with text along a curve?
Cuanto se demora el mecanizado y que voltaje tiene
che piacere rivedere il mio maestro.
Great video guys. I ended up buying the Elite Woodworker and I went with Carveco maker with an annual subscription. Cheers Mark
so you have a cnc manufacturer advising you how to choose a cnc? this is just a promo for onefinity. first consideration should be budget and space available, stiffness , motors, control software, drive system. im not saying onefinity are poor machines, but they are definately on the hobby end .
Confirmed! We are an affordable, industrial grade, hobby CNC! :)
Cool! I'm making a Lego sign for a friend and would love to incorporate. I use carveco any chance you'd share?
Can't get toolpath to follow vector
Dang yall keep out doing yourselves!
Fantastic carve, Puts little desktop CNCs to shame
bro what cammand you use for bending lines in arc plz tell
this needs to be updated to the current version. 1.53 does not have a grouping icon for vectors.
not working!
Lol..101
So i have both vetric and carveco I love both of them but as far as photo v car goes vetric is far superior because of its toolpath is different than carvco. You can make a very clear 60° bit tool path if you bring up your contrast and do some photo manipulating you will be able to carve just as clear as a 30° bit from my own observations. I watch guys take a 90° 3/4" bit and do better than a 60° bit. It really all comes down to your pre sets. My favorite settings for a 60° Depends on the pic but my starting settings would be .07 step over and .06 to .055 Carvco 28°, seems like it's always the best Vetric i spend more time on finding my angle than my presets. I have one photo that will barely touch And carve another image it'll be a deep cut. Contrast and lighting on these photos are so important I'm sure youve seen this. In ventric i bounce back and forth to the photo edit between toolpath previews then reset and change my contrast and my other settings just a little bit up or down darken lighten change the gamma. You know I know we don't all have a lot of time to do this stuff but I'll spend two or three hours on changing my photo settings between each toolpath because you can get your clarity with that 60° bit that is so awesome and clear. The other day I took a photo of a bee working a dandelion and I fine tuned it so you could see the wings on that be on top of that dandelion in my carve. Bluring the background of whatever your im is just a lil bit will bring huge vibrancy into your carves.
we need simultaneous 4 aixs please
I just bought the carverco. I love the things it can do, but honestly, its pain in the *ss to figure out things like this. I wasted hours to fix the green circle problems, but the CUT tool doesn't do anything sometimes. This tutorial is the way to go for 2 text overlap combination. (there is a lot weird thing to me. like the tools. Its need to be a button for it. I need to make a toolpath, and select tool, to get there.)
That is great!
Great video. I bought a 3018 a couple of years ago, Just used it for Laser. Now I want to set it up for CNC......NH OLDFART
tool database need a button.
Having done heaps of laser engraved cutting boards in the past (My CNC should be here this week), the clear epoxy has always been the best option as it soaks into the wood really well. I prefer a longer pot life epoxy, something with a 4+hr pot life, so I can come back 4 of 5 times and ensure it has completely touched all parts of the base engrave. The only setback is the 24-48 hour set time. As I start on the CNC I may look at a short pot life and be able to do a color fill 12hrs or so later, meaning I can quicken the process by a few days Oh and air bubbles in the epoxy can be reduced in a few ways, but firstly using a vacuum chamber after mixing, thin layers, and regular torching, secondly, for very small items, consider a pressure chamber (Pressure pot), but thats usually limited to 25cm diameter
Pls full video upload
huh?
Thanks heaps, simple to follow, but just enough depth to understand and explain to us new users
This feature is no longer in Carveco Maker
Dmn good video
Great job Tim! Love how you personalized this for such a momentous occasion. Congrats !
Thanks so much, Mitz!
I thought this was going to be a course aimed at eithor complete newbies who are using a computer for the first time, or at someone with a 300 IQ that knows everything about Carveco and machining, but I was wrong. This has just enough depth to catch everyone, but not too hard to understand at all. Thanks heaps for this
Fck subscriptions
Neat effect
Thank you Thank you so much very useful video
Is it possible to import Carveco works into blender ?
Good stuff for sure
So im having a problem im trying to do these pictures and for some reason after doing my home and zeroing i probe and or manual zero, does not matter hit send and my cut starts roughly twice the height of my probe height. Where am i making my error. Carveco had an update and ever since the new update its been messed up, iv tried working on easel and im not having any problems. Import to easel i get the problem so it hase to be an an error in carveco im making or something in the project build out
I know this is an old video but we can't curve/blend the letters into the relief versus making a box? Trying to letter a curved aircraft tail with dates etc. don't want a box.
Can you do a surfacing pass between epoxy pores
My opinion yes you could but you are going to waste time and also everytime you change the the bit you have to recalibrate. Doing it at last seems the most practical.
what format is the picture? wasn't mentioned, is it a jpeg or what? I've tried this and it tells me wrong format.
Love carveco 🎉
Great video Leighton as usual. Very informative! Cheers Mark
Super!
I just dont understand why the pathing ignores the "B" in Beer when its already in that area. Are improvements being made to optimize this sort of thing? Same with pocketing/area clear, sometimes due to stepover settings, a deep small hole will be made first. The stepover should be treated as a max and not an absolute. Im fine if it requires a lesser stepover for center parts not reachable with the max stepover, as long as it can be done automatically, id rather not lessen the stepover on an entire pocket just for a little part in the middle.
strange how we had to have someone in the comments clarify exactly what was happening.
I would try blowing compressed air over the carvings when sealing with the clear epoxy. That might get the excess out of the carvings. I’d blow it out then dab the excess off with paper towels. Might be worth a try.
This is a great pace for a total beginner. Thank you!
Very cool! I wonder how they keep water from the ice from rusting the CNC. They did a great job!
Fabulous build, must have been huge CNC to take those slabs
Omg ! Love !!!
